Selene Solorza-Calderón received her Bachelor's degree in Applied Math from Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC), Mexico, in 1997; her MSc degree in Earth Sciences from Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada (CICESE), Mexico, in 1999; and her Ph.D. degree in Earth Sciences from CICESE in 2005. Since 2003, she has been a researcher in the Math Area at the Faculty of Sciences, UABC. Her research interests include image processing, pattern recognition in digital images, and wave propagation in poroelastic media. Selene is a member of the Mexican National Research System (SNI) and a member of the Mexican Mathematical Society. She was a member of the Accreditation Committee of the Council for Accreditation of Educational Programs in Mathematics (CAPEM), period 2016-2020. She was also a vocal member of the Directing Board of the CAPEM, period 2020-2022.

Dr. Sun earned his Ph.D. (1989) at the Florida State University with Prof. Jack Saltiel. He was a postdoctoral fellow with Prof. Josef Michl (1989-91) and Prof. Marye Anne Fox (1991-92) at the University of Texas at Austin. He joined Clemson faculty in 1992.

Francesco Prudenzano (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Bari, Bari, Italy, in November 1996. Since 2018, he has been a Full Professor of electromagnetic fields with the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Politecnico di Bari. His research interests include the design and characterization of optical fiber-based devices, rare earth doped amplifiers and lasers, optical combiners and couplers, microwave devices and antennas. He is the Head of Microwave and Optical Engineering Group, Department of Electrical and Information Engineering, Politecnico di Bari. From 2017 to 2018, he was the Chair of SIOF, Italian Society of Optics and Photonics (Italian branch of EOS - European Optical Society). He has coauthored more than 450 publications, 295 of which got published in journals and international conferences, lectures, and invited papers. He is involved in several national and international research projects and cooperations.

Dr. Huabei Jiang started his career as an Assistant Professor at Clemson University in 1997, and became a full Professor there in 2003. He then joined University of Florida (UF) in 2005 as a founding senior faculty of then newly established biomedical engineering department and became the J. Crayton Pruitt Family endowed professor in 2008 at UF. Dr. Jiang joined University of South Florida (USF) in 2017 as a founding faculty of medical engineering department and the founding Director of USF Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging. In his career, Professor Jiang has used optics in highly innovative ways to make pioneering and seminal contributions to several fields including diffuse optical tomography (DOT), photoacoustic tomography (PAT), fluorescence molecular tomography (FMT), and bioluminescence tomography (BLT). He has published nearly 400 peer-reviewed articles, and is the author of two noteworthy books, both of which were the first books in their respective fields: Diffuse Optical Tomography: Principles and Applications (CRC Press, 2010) and Photoacoustic Tomography (CRC Press, 2014). Professor Jiang was elected as Fellow of American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) in 2008, Fellow of International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) in 2007, and Fellow of Optical Society of America (OSA) in 2006. Outside the research/teaching, Huabei Jiang spends tremendous amount of his time practicing Chinese Calligraphy and painting (ink/color pencil and watercolor). He will have the first exhibition of his artworks in summer 2019 in Chengdu, China.

Martin R. Hofmann joined the Ruhr-University Bochum in August 2001 as Professor for Optoelectronic Devices and Materials. In 2008, he took over the chair for Photonics and Terahertz Technology (PTT) also at the Ruhr-University Bochum, Germany. He studied physics at the Philipps-University Marburg, made his diploma in 1991, and finished his PhD in the group of Prof. Dr. Ernst Göbel in 1994 (Topic: Gain dynamics of mode locked laser diodes). From 1995 to spring 1996 he worked as a Post Doc within the European Union Human Capital and Mobility program at the University College Cork, Ireland, at the Fondazione Ugo Bordoni, Rome, Italy, and at Tele Danmark Research in Hoersholm, Denmark. From spring 1996 to July 2001 he was research assistant in the group of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Rühle at the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research in Stuttgart and at the Philipps-University Marburg. He received his habilitation in Experimental Physics in April 2000 at the Philipps-University Marburg. He has been author or co-author of more than 400 publications in international journals or on international conferences on the fields of optoelectronic devices, THz technology, and modern optical systems.

Robert J. Buenker, born on May 6, 1942, in Dubuque, Iowa, is a distinguished theoretical chemist renowned for his groundbreaking contributions to quantum chemistry. He obtained his B.S. in Mathematics and Chemistry from Loras College in 1963, followed by a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University in 1966. Buenker's illustrious career includes professorial roles at various institutions worldwide, notably at the University of Nebraska and Bergische Universität-Gesamthochschule, Wuppertal, Germany. He's authored pioneering work on electronic spectra calculations, relativistic effects, and positron interactions with molecules. His research spans diverse areas, from molecular physics to photon interactions. Recognized with numerous awards and honors, including a Marie Curie Fellowship, Buenker continues to inspire generations through his teaching and prolific research, leaving an indelible mark on theoretical chemistry.
